K12 Excellence Spotlight
John Giffin, principal at Vienna High School, worked with Sourcewell to nominate three special education teachers for national recognition through the K12 Excellence Spotlight.
Principal Giffin noted that he works with a great team of community members and educators. He specifically highlighted the high school special education team specifically because their efforts often go unsung and also often have recognition that isn't reliazed until into the future.
According to the Sourcewell release, "Teachers Lenore Ashby, Kara Suits-Hight, and Michelle Hunsaker go above and beyond to help every student move forward, whether that means advocating for their education or helping them earn a driver’s license, find a job, or simply get through the school doors."
“They fight for every gain made with a student,” Principal John Giffin shared.
